Hi @handcrafted123,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're experiencing intermittent Wi-Fi connectivity issues with your HP OfficeJet Pro 8610 printer. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the problem.

Check Network Stability: Ensure that your Wi-Fi network is stable and that other devices can connect without issues. Sometimes, network congestion or interference can affect the printer's ability to stay connected.

Printer Reset: Power off the printer, unplug it from the wall, and leave it unplugged for about 60 seconds. Plug it back in and turn it on. This can help reset the printer's network connection.

Re-establish the Wi-Fi Connection:

  • On the printer's control panel, navigate to Setup > Network > Wireless Settings.
  • Select Wireless Setup Wizard and follow the prompts to reconnect to your Wi-Fi network.

Update Printer Firmware: Check if there's a firmware update available for your printer. Keeping the firmware up to date can fix connectivity issues. You can find updates on the HP Support website.

Check Firewall/Router Settings: Sometimes, firewall settings on your router can block the printer's access. Ensure that your printer is allowed through the firewall and that your router's firmware is updated.

Use HP Print and Scan Doctor: Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool. This tool can automatically diagnose and fix many connectivity issues.

Check for Proxy Settings: If your network uses a proxy server, ensure that the printer's settings are correctly configured to use it. You may need to enter the correct proxy details on the printer's control panel.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, consider connecting the printer via USB temporarily to check if the problem is with the Wi-Fi network or the printer itself.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
