HI, has anyone had a similar problem with an HP Officejet 8040 (with NEAT)  touch screen freezing or stopped functioning altogether?  I have powered off and on to no avail; though, printing from my computer is still operational.

@Skiric0, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Is there any damage to the screen?

Was there a thunderstorm at your place lately?

Try connecting the printer to a different wall outlet and check.

Reset the printer

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  2. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  4. Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  5. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.

If the above steps do not help, please contact our HP Support team for Service Options as it could be a possible hardware issue:

Kumar0307, thank you so much!  Simply plugging the printer directly to the wall socket got the touch screen working again.
