When I open my HP-smart app on Mac and I want to scan a document HP-smart says my printer doesn't have a scanner.
The HP officejet Pro 9010 series all in one does have a scanner and I was able to scan in the past with HP-smart.
How can I fix this issue.
I already uninstall an reinstall the HP-smart app. I have a HP+ account.
I can still scan using when I go from system: printers and scanners.
It seems to be an software issue with the HP smart app.
Probably after the latest update from MAC OS Ventura

Hi @Dirk79,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're encountering an issue with the HP Smart app on your Mac not recognizing the scanner on your HP OfficeJet Pro 9010 series all-in-one printer, even though you can scan using the macOS built-in "Printers and Scanners" feature, you can try the following steps to resolve the issue.
Update HP Smart App: Ensure that you have the latest version of the HP Smart app installed on your Mac. Outdated software can sometimes cause compatibility issues.
Restart Your Mac: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve software glitches. Restart your Mac and try opening the HP Smart app again.
Check for macOS Updates: Make sure your macOS is up-to-date. Go to "Apple menu" > "System Preferences" > "Software Update" and check for any available updates. Install them if necessary.
Reset HP Smart App Preferences: If the issue persists, try resetting the HP Smart app preferences. To do this, open
"Finder," go to the "Go" menu, and choose "Go to Folder." Enter the following path:
~/Library/Containers/com.hp.devicemonitor/Data/Library/Preferences. Delete any files or folders related to the HP Smart app, and then restart the app.
Reinstall HP Smart App: Uninstall the HP Smart app once again, then restart your Mac, and reinstall the app from the Mac App Store.
Check Scanner Settings: Ensure that the scanner on your HP OfficeJet Pro 9010 is correctly configured. You can usually do this by accessing the printer's settings through its control panel or the web interface.
Reset Printing System: If all else fails, you can try resetting the printing system on your Mac and then add the printer again. Be cautious, as this will remove all printers on your Mac, so you'll need to add them back. To reset the printing system, go to "Apple menu" > "System Preferences" > "Printers & Scanners," right-click in the printers list, and select "Reset printing system."
Remember to back up any necessary printer settings or preferences before performing any major changes or resets to avoid data loss.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
