Hi @Shazz61,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Smart Tank 7005 All-in-One Printer is showing that the printer app has expired and you're unable to scan documents to your Windows 11 computer, here's how to fix it:
Step-by-Step Fix to Scan Documents to Your PC
1. Uninstall Expired HP Printer Software
- Open Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a program.
 - Look for HP Printer Assistant or any old HP software.
 - Uninstall it completely.

2. Install the Latest HP Smart App
HP now recommends using the HP Smart app for scanning and printing.
- Download it from the Microsoft Store:
👉 HP Support Assistant | HP® Support - Once installed:

- Open the app and sign in with your HP account.
 - Add your printer.
 - Use the “Scan” option to scan documents directly to your PC.

3. Fix “Scan to Computer is No Longer Activated” Error
If you see this message:
- Open Task Manager > Startup Apps.
 - Find ScanToPCActivationApp.exe.
 - Right-click and select Disable.
 - Restart your computer.

More details here:
👉 HP Printers - 'Scan to computer is no longer activated' displays (Windows) | HP® Support
4. Use HP Smart’s Diagnose & Fix Tool
- In the HP Smart app, go to Settings > Diagnose & Fix.
 - This tool can automatically repair scanning issues.

I hope this helps.
Take care, and have an amazing day!
