I am in a 1.5 hour WhatsApp chat with HP Support to try and get my HP 7605 to scan to email. I have tried and failed to set it up myself using the Windows 11 HP Smart app. I tried my one.com email and my **bleep**. Both failed when I test them. HP Support are asking me to set up an App Password on my **bleep**, but this is not available even though I have 2 factor authentication on. I replaced my HP Laser with this machine and all I had to do on the HP Laser was to give it the email address I wanted to send the scan to, none of this other milarky.

Hi @JoolsHP133,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Use the HP Smart App: It seems you have already attempted this. Verify that all account credentials are correct, and ensure that your email server settings are properly configured in the app.
Email App Passwords: Some email providers, like Gmail or Yahoo, require an app-specific password if you are using two-factor authentication. You might need to generate an application-specific password to connect your account with the printer.
Correct SMTP Settings: Ensure that the SMTP server settings are correctly configured for your email provider in the printer's email setup. This usually includes:
- SMTP server address
- SMTP port number
- SSL/TLS settings
Check Email Provider Support: Some email service providers may need special configurations or may not support scan to email directly from printers. You might need to contact your email provider for more specific settings.
Try a Different Email Account: If possible, attempt to set up scan to email with a different email account to see if the issue might be related to specific email settings.
I hope this helps.
