Hey @JohnnyMac1,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I understand that you would like to scan two-sided documents from your HP ENVY 7645 e-All-in-One Printer to your Mac OS X 10.10 computer. I would like to assist you today with this. Now, your HP Envy has an automatic two-sided duplex print accessory. However, it does not have an automatic two-sided Copy and Scan accessory. Under the Copy menu for your printer you will see the 2-sided Copy option. This gives you the option of scanning 1:1 or 1:2. This means that your HP Envy is capable of Copying a single sided document and print a single sided copy. Or, you can copy single sided pages and have them print two-sided. But you do not have the option of 2:2 which would allow you to Copy (or scan) a two sided document on a duplex (two-sided) piece of paper. Therefore, the only option you will have to scan two-sided documents to your Mac would be to manually flip the pages over and scan them.
On your Mac, when you open up the scanning software, simply load the first page face down on the glass or on the document feeder assembly. Scan the first page. After scanning the first page, flip the page over so the second page is face down on the flatbed glass or in the document feeder, and hit the (+) Add pages button to scan the second page. Repeat this manual flip and (+) Add process until all of your two-sided pages have been scanned in.
Please let me know if this information is helpful. I look forward to hearing from you! 🙂
