Hp deskjet GT 5820
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)
have forgotten my admin password after changing it from the default. I have tried several known combinations.

I need a way to hard reset to default factory settings. None of the hardware button presses for the other inkjet printers work. Any help?

(I've done the wireless + cancel button and it is not the solution I am looking for).

Hi @sirjohand,

Thanks for engaging in HP support Forums! This is a wonderful location to converse with the community, get assistance and find tips! As I understand you need assistance in performing a factor reset on your HP DeskJet printer. Don't worry I'll do my best to help you with this.

Splendid effort and fabulous description of the issue before posting. Kudos to you on that score. You are a valued HP customer and it is paramount to assist you here. I take it as a privilege to share this platform with you.

I see that you already tried performing a restore network setting to defaults and unfortunately, this has not helped to fix the issue. I would suggest the next step would be to perform an advanced reset on the printer. I am sending you a private message with the steps to reset the printer. Please check the mailbox icon at the top-right corner of this screen.
