Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.
HP Recommended

New smart tank 7602 printer. Touch menu on printer very limited. There are no fax setting options to stop fax auto answering, only send now, send later and reprint. No settings options for anything. I tried with virtual asst which stated printer control panel to basic fax settings. I do not have a control panel or can’t find it.
Set up  printer 2 days ago via wifi, hp smart. Hp smart app was no help either.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

You are welcome.

Sure - printers are different.

If this printer does not meet your needs for direct access to the printer settings, then you might consider a different model.

Depending on what you are seeing -- and where - the security warning when you click Advanced Settings  (in HP Smart) might be something you should try to bypass to open what is essentially EWS (Embedded Web Server).

Using the Embedded Web Server is a workaround to the printer not having a full touchscreen Printer Control Panel.

EWS is actually kind of nice once you get it opened.

EWS > HP Document / How-to (InkJet Printers – Original Format)

Use the HP printer Embedded Web Server (EWS)

NOTE:  Find printer IP address

Section Open the EWS over a local network orientation

============================================

The hint that this printer does not have a full service Printer Control Panel is the lack of a full sized window menu on the front of the printer.

I am sorry I cannot explain it better --

I've never seen a Smart Tank printer --

I am working from the documentation and my general experience with printer features and how they work.

What else?

You did not mention the Operating System / version.

The following is relevant to supported versions of Windows.

Read the  printer manual,

There is a section that explains how to use the installed full driver printer software to manage your Fax settings

User Guide - HP Smart Tank 7600 series

Page 44

When installed, the printer software will also install either the Printer Assistant OR the Scan Assistant.

The Printer Assistant, if supported in your printer software, includes a "Fax" section.

If your software comes with the "Scan Assistant", then the Printer Assistant is not supported.

Scan Assistant is a different animal -- It will not have a Fax section.

Regardless,

If you are keeping the printer

AND

If you are running Windows,

You will want to install the full driver printer software at some point.

====================================

Printer Software

If you have not yet done so, install the Full Feature Software / full driver printer software.

HP Full Feature Software / Full Driver printer software - supports printing and scanning from the web, printing in in other software and programs (for example, Word), and provides access to the full range of Printing Preferences / Shortcuts.  The full driver generally adds at one, possibly least one, possibly two shortcuts to the Desktop: Printer Assistant, HP Scan Assistant, and/or HP Scan.

NOTES:

HP Scan is not installed if the printer does not support Scan.

The Printer Assistant is not installed if the type of full driver software does not support it.  If the printer model includes built-in Fax hardware, the software supports the setup and use of the Fax driver.

No Sign-in required to use full driver printer software.

Reinstalling?

  • Uninstall existing full driver printer software from Programs and Features.
  • If your printer includes a separate "help" in Programs and Features, uninstall that, too.
  • Restart the computer and log in.
  • If the printer is connected to the computer using a printer USB cable, remove / disconnect the cable before loading the software.

HP Easy Start Printer Setup Software – Offline Use Only

Supported Operating systems:
  • Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)
  • Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
  • Microsoft Windows 11
  • Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)
  • Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

In general, the web pack should load -

Download package > Save > Right-Click on the installation Package > Run as Administrator

If / When asked, opt for the Full Driver / Full Software to be installed.

Using USB?  (Re)Connect when instructed to do so.

After the software is installed, Restart the computer and sign in.

The installation of the full driver generally adds at least one or more shortcuts to the Desktop.

Note Printer Assistant, HP Scan Assistant, and HP Scan are dependent on printer model and supported software options.

  • Printer Assistant – Where still supported as part of the full driver printer software
  • HP Scan – Shortcut on Desktop named for the printer model

OR

  • HP Scan Assistant – For those printers that no longer provide the Printer Assistant
  • HP Scan - Shortcut named for itself

AND / OR

  • When installed, HP Universal Scan software adds a separate self-named “HP Scan” shortcut

Printer Assistant shortcut > Tab Scan > Manage Scan to Computer > Enable

Or

HP Scan Assistant shortcut > Manage Scan to Computer > Enable

Thank you Dragon-fur for your response. I find it hard to believe this printer does not provide a simple control panel for basic setting changes. I don’t have a “printer settings” tile maybe because I don’t have hp+. But tapping on ready printer, then  “advanced settings ” which did not mention going to “ews,” took me to a privacy warning not to continue. So I don’t know. Is there a simpler way to stop fax auto answer? I also need to decide if this expensive all in one lacks such basic functions, maybe I should return it.  Thanks
