Operating System: macOS 10.13 High Sierra

Hi, when scanning with HP Scanjet 4500 fn1 the characters get gradually bigger and bigger and the smaller again throughout the A4 sheet. All reproducible. A installed latest drivers and software: No success!

It somehow looks as if the sensor would be mechanically lifted and lowered during the scan: like a camera that looks closer and the again from farther distance.

Somehow it  reminded me of the black scan issue discussed in the forum.

I cannot get in touch with a human being with bones and flesh to help me: virtual assistant could not help me either: There are only machines trying to help.

Thanks for your reply! I tried to update the firmware, but was not successful!

The actual firmware version in scanner:   v6.123 Pa,

I downloaded the firmware file to my MacBook Pro (after mac has recognized my OSX version 10.13), the name of which is: 

HP ScanJet Pro 4500 fn1 EWS_0330y22(FW7.138).bin. I guess the version would be: v7.138 ?

I doubleclicked on this firmware file: nothing happens, then I executed HP Easy Start to try to update the firmware: After execution the app says: Successfully updated, but the firmware in the scanned still is the same (also after reboot):  v6.123 Pa !

I obviously do not know how to update the firmware 🙂
