Officejet Pro 8620
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi

I have been trying to "scan to email" on my Officejet Pro 8620, and although it has been working since I first set the printer up many years ago, it now doesn't want to do it.

I've looked and tried to update the Hotmail SMTP server details, from what I can find online, but comes up with "Printer cannot connect to server".

Can someone who has working SMTP settings for their Hotmail account please paste them here, so I can use - I only want the SMTP Server settings, not your account details:

  • SMTP Server:
  • SMP Port:
  • Is "Always use secure connection (SSL/TLS) checked?

Thanks in advance. Howard

Hi,

Try using below settings for Hotmail, I believe these should work:

  • SMTP server name smtp-mail.outlook.com
  • SMTP port 587
  • SMTP encryption method STARTTLS
