How do I FAX without using a phone cable with my OfficeJet 8720

I recently replaced my old Mac OS with a new Mini Mac. Since that change I have been unable to FAX with my HP OfficeJet Pro 8720. I realize there is no connection between my OfficeJet and my computer, so perhaps it is a coincidence. However, I can no longer send a FAX. No one receives FAXes that I attempt to send. I have never had a phone line connected to my OfficeJet, so there must be a WiFi connection to the outside world or something. So how can I now send a FAX like I use to without a phone line?

You must have been using SnapFax or some other fax service for your older Mac.  

The Mac is sending the fax by email.   You may have a phone number associated with the service and that number gets converted into an email that your receive.
