How do I add HP Smart to my desktop?

HP Smart is a windows app and is not easy to find.  Once found a shortcut can be added to the desktop

It can be easily put in the startup box or in the task bar but you want it on the desktop.

 

How to find it.

Bring up administrator command prompt and change to the WindowsApps folder to do the search

On my win11 system it is at C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\AD2F1837.HPPrinterControl_149.1.1056.0_x64__v10z8vjag6ke6

 

change to that folder and bring up the file manager as follows

after pressing return, find "hp.smart.exe" and send a shortcut to your desktop

It will have an ugly icon, sorry.
