Hi @LouisMS

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Attaching a document from the cloud using Mobile Fax in HP Smart is straightforward once you know where to look. Here’s how you can do it:

Steps to Attach a Cloud Document in HP Smart Mobile Fax

  1. Open HP Smart on your device.
  2. Tap the Mobile Fax tile on the home screen.
  3. Compose a new fax by entering the recipient’s details.
  4. Tap "Files and Cover Page" to add attachments.
  5. Select "Files and Photos" and look for cloud storage options.
  6. Choose your cloud service (Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, etc.).
  7. Browse and select the document you want to fax.
  8. Confirm the attachment and send the fax.

If your cloud storage isn’t listed, you may need to download the file to your device first and then attach it manually.

Hawks_Eye,

Thank you for your advice, but when I click on "Files and Photos" on my Windows 10 laptop, the only thing that comes up is access to my drives and camera.  There is no access to cloud storage.  Is there a way to add cloud storage to my files and photos or is this feature only available in Andriod and iOs?  Please advise.

@LouisMS, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you so much for posting your query! My colleague @Hawks_Eye is currently out, but don't worry – I’ll be taking over and making sure we get this sorted for you.

I’m here to help, and together, we’ll work through this!

On Windows 10, the HP Smart app's Mobile Fax feature does not currently provide direct integration with cloud storage services (like Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive) within the app itself, the way it does on Android and iOS.

Here's how it works by platform:

Android / iOS: These platforms allow native cloud integration within HP Smart. Tapping "Files and Photos" will often show connected cloud services.

Windows 10: The "Files and Photos" button only accesses local files — such as those on your computer or connected devices (e.g., camera, hard drives).

Try this:

To fax a cloud document from your Windows 10 computer using HP Smart:

Open your cloud service (e.g., Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive) using a web browser or desktop app.

Download the file you want to fax to your local device.

Open HP Smart and go to Mobile Fax.

Click "Files and Photos" and browse to the file you just downloaded.

Attach and send the fax as usual.

I truly hope these steps help get things back on track. If you have any questions or need any further clarification, just let me know – I’m happy to guide you through it and make sure everything works perfectly.

Take care, and I hope you have an amazing day ahead! 😊

Problem solved? 🎉 That’s fantastic! If you could mark this as the Accepted Solution, it would help others find their way here faster. And if you found this helpful, a simple ‘yes’ would mean a lot – it makes my day and gives this reply a little street cred! 🏅

Garp_senchau,

Thank you for confirming what I already thought based on what Hawks_eye wrote, the youtube video he sent and my own experience with the product.  I was hoping that I was doing something wrong and you both could enlighten me.
