I started to set up the fax on my printer, only to find that I needed a landline - which I do not have. Now the set up is still trying to and I am not able to print from my computer to the printer. I need help.

Hi @SuziD1
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd like to help!
If you want to cancel the fax setup, follow the steps below and see how it goes.
Disconnect the power cable from the printer wait for 60 sec and then reconnect.
It will stop the fax setup. If you get the pop-up to set up fax again, please cancel it.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

I'm also trying to set up my fax line. I found out about of couple of things to try.
1. In reading throughout some articles, it say to only use a 2 wire phone cable.
2. I'm trying to set up mine thru voip. I had it working at one time, but had to renovate my computer room. I thought I hand everything hooked up the same way, but so far Fax is not working.
3. One article said not to hook up anything else to the printer (exm: phone ,answering machine ,etc.)
4. One article says lower fax speed.
5. One article says use a DSL filter to remove any noise on the line.
The biggest difference was ,at one time I had the MFP attached just to the modem by it self. The phone was attached to a different modem in a different location in my house. I might have to get the phone modem back.
I've tried some, and waiting on DSL filter to arrive. I have to change out my cable, because they are 4 wire instead of 2 wire. I'll repost If I get it working.
