HP DeskJet 2630 All-in-One Printer

I recently uninstalled my HP scanning software and installed a more recent version. However, I then lost the automatic visibility of the document when it was being scanned, although I could see this by clicking 'View', but more importantly lost the ability to collate several scanned pages into a single scanned file.

How can I get this collating function back (and ideally have automatic visibility of the document during and after the scan)?

Many thanks

Hi @SAH1959

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand that you are facing issues with scanning multiple pages to a single file.

Please follow the steps listed below:

1. Check the following requirements for a multi-page document or photo scanning into one PDF file:

- To save multiple photos into one file, you must use the PDF document-related shortcuts.

- Use a resolution setting of 300 DPI or lower.

2. In HP Scan, select the Save as PDF or Document to File shortcut to scan the item.

- If you scanned multiple pages from the ADF, click Save. All pages automatically save into a single file.
- If you scanned from the scanner glass, load the next page or photo on the glass, and then click the plus button in the HP Scan preview window to scan the next item. Repeat this step until all pages or photos are scanned, and then click Save.

3. Confirm that PDF is selected in the Save as type menu, change the file name and the folder you want to save the scan to, and then click Save.
4. To view your scan, open the folder in which you saved the scan, and then double-click the file.

Hi Rainbow. Many thanks for your help. Unfortunately, there is no plus button in the HP Scan preview window to click on.

I did have this plus button until I uninstalled and reinstalled what I thought was the latest HP software.

I most have picked up the wrong one, so I will have another look and see if I can find the correct one to download (but if you can recommend one that would be helpful).

Many thanks & best wishes,

Steve
