Welcome to the HP support community.
Change your printer to default printer to fix this issue
In Windows 10, your default can be the printer you last used. To turn on this mode, open Start and select Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners. Select the checkbox beside Let Windows manage my default printer.
Refer this article to fix for more assistance:- Click here
If the issue still persists, uninstall the printer and reinstall the printer driver
Perform root level uninstallation to remove all the printer related software's.
- In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
- Select your HP printer.
- Select Uninstall.
- In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
- In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
- Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
- Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
- Click on Drivers tab.
- Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click Remove at the bottom.
- Select OK.
- Remove all instances of the same.
- Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.
- Close Devices and Printers.
- Restart the PC again.
Download and install the printer driver.
Click here to download the driver.
I hope that helps.

You can also just set your default printer properly. On your PC go to control panel>devices and printers and then right click the icon for your printer and select "set as default" from the drop down menu. You will be prompted that doing this will stop windows from managing your printers which you want to accept. Windows print management can be frustrating and for most users unneeded in my opinion.
