Welcome to the HP Community --

The printer is not aware of what it is scanning or printing.

==============================

Printer - Copy

The printer does not have a Copy Resize option --

Lacking a full touchscreen Printer Control Panel, the Copy feature is limited to the button actions described in the printer's user manual.

Printer - Scan

If the original is printed on a paper size / type supported by the Automatic Feeder, the printer can scan your content using the ADF (Automatic Document Feeder).

The printer can be used to scan one or more items placed on the flatbed / glass.

Once scanned, the content can be saved.

Next,

Open the file and print at the size wanted.

What you do depends on the goal.

AND

IMPORTANT

The results depend on what you are trying to do PLUS the printer's limited ability to handle margins.

Examples

Photos that can fit on one sheet of paper can be printed on supported paper near the size of that paper.

Example - HP Smart - Windows - Simple Photo Print

HP_Smart_Win_Print_Photo_4x6_All_12HP_Smart_Win_Print_Photo_4x6_All_12

Next,

Smaller photos can be printed up to the size of a single sheet of paper.

Sample - HP Smart - Windows - Select Size - Letter

 HP_Smart_Win_Simple_Photo_Print_Letter_4x6_4HP_Smart_Win_Simple_Photo_Print_Letter_4x6_4

Next,

Photos might be printed across more than one sheet of paper as a Poster.

Example - Paint - Poster Style

 Paint_Print_Scale_Poster_300_2Paint_Print_Scale_Poster_300_2

Next,

One or more photos can be printed on more or more sheets of paper using Microsoft Print Pictures (the modern remake of the Windows Photo Viewer software).

Example - Print Pictures

 Print_Pictures_Multiple-Photos-on-One-Sheet-of-Paper_4Print_Pictures_Multiple-Photos-on-One-Sheet-of-Paper_4

Next,

Photo editing software can be used to print your photo at the scale / size wanted.

NOTES

Most third party photo editing software requires that the full driver printer software has been installed.

Printer - Margins

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Important

DeskJet printers do not support Borderless

and

DeskJet printers require a larger margin along the bottom edge of the paper

These limitations impact how content is printed on paper.

This DeskJet printer requires a larger margin along the bottom edge (1/2 inch).

Borderless PrintingNo
Print Margin Bottom (A4)12.7 mm
Print Margin Left (A4)3 mm
Print Margin Right (A4)3 mm
Print Margin Top (A4)3 mm

There is no software, firmware, or alignment that changes the larger margin requirement.

The solution to "chopped off" is to keep all data inside of 1/2 inch / 12.7mm on the bottom edge.

This limitation includes all text, images, page numbers, footer information, cells, tables, lines, other notations, and all file types, too.

Create your original document with 12.7mm ( 1/2 inch ) margins.
