Hi @DA107,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Certainly! The process of scanning documents from your HP printer to your PC may vary slightly depending on the model of your HP printer and the software you have installed on your computer. However, I can provide you with general steps that should help you scan documents to your PC. Please follow these steps.

Check Connection:

  • Make sure that your HP printer is properly connected to your computer and turned on.

Install HP Software:

  • Ensure that you have the necessary HP scanning software installed on your computer. If not, you may need to install the HP printer software that came with your printer. You can usually find this software on the CD that came with your printer or download it from the HP website.

Place Document on Scanner:

  • Lift the lid of your printer to expose the scanner bed.
  • Place the document face-down on the scanner bed. Align it according to the markings on the bed.

Initiate Scan from Printer:

  • On the control panel of your HP printer, look for a button or touchscreen option that is related to scanning. It may be labeled as "Scan," "Scan to Computer," or something similar. Press this button.

Select Scan Options:

  • Once you press the scanning button, you may be prompted to select the scan options, such as the type of scan (color, black and white), resolution, and file format. Make your selections based on your preferences.

Choose Destination:

  • You might be asked to choose the destination for the scanned document. Select "Computer" or a similar option.

Initiate Scan:

  • Press the "Scan" or "Start" button on your printer to initiate the scanning process.

Retrieve Scan from PC:

  • After the scanning is complete, the scanned document should be saved to your computer. The default location is often a "Scans" or "Documents" folder.

Check HP Software on PC:

  • Open the HP scanning software on your computer and check if the scanned document is visible there. You may have additional options for managing and saving your scanned documents through the software.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
