Make sure you have installed the Full Featured Software and Drivers from the HP web site to get scanning function.

Scanning issues…

Please try this scan solution:

HP Scan Extended

For Windows:   ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi

Once it's downloaded and installed, go to Start > All Programs > HP > HP Scan Extended > Run "HP Scan Extended"

Make searchable PDF scans with this free scanning software -   https://www.naps2.com/

Let us know.

Hi sabretooth04. Thanks for your suggestions. I have downloaded the Scan Ext  on this link ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi but when I try to make something happen I get the message 'The HP Imaging Device was not found'.

Then your scanner is not found.   Download and install the Full Featured Software and Drivers from the HP web site.

Hi sabretooth04. It looks like I have bought the wrong printer. I have discovered that this one is purely a printer and not an All-in-One copy/print/scan unit, which is what I wanted! My mistake 😞  Many thanks for your help.
