Hi @Tennymom,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are trying to scan a document with your HP ENVY 5660 e-All-in-One Printer using your Windows 10 computer, follow these steps:
Method 1: Using the HP Smart App
- Download and Install HP Smart:
- If you haven't already, download the HP Smart app from the HP printer setup (HP Smart app)
- Open HP Smart:
- Launch the app and ensure your printer is added. If not, click the "+" sign to add your printer.
- Select Scan:
- On the HP Smart home screen, click the Scan option.
- Place your document on the scanner glass or in the automatic document feeder (ADF), if available.
- Adjust Scan Settings:
- Configure the scan type, resolution, and file format if needed.
- Start Scanning:
- Click Scan to start the process.
- Save or Share:
- After scanning, save the document to your computer or share it via email or cloud services.
Method 2: Using Windows Scan App
- Open the Windows Scan App:
- If you don’t have it installed, get it from the Microsoft Store.
- Select Your Printer:
- Ensure your HP ENVY 5660 is selected as the scanner.
- Choose Scan Settings:
- Set preferences like file type (PDF, JPEG, etc.) and resolution.
- Scan Your Document:
- Place the document on the scanner and click Scan.
Method 3: Using HP Printer Assistant
- Open HP Printer Assistant:
- Search for HP Printer Assistant in the Windows Start menu and open it.
- Go to Scan Section:
- Click Scan a Document or Photo.
- Configure Settings:
- Select the scan type and adjust settings as needed.
- Scan and Save:
- Click Scan, then save the document
If you still can't see the scan button:
- Check for Software Issues: Uninstall and reinstall the HP printer software from the HP Support website.
- Ensure Printer Connectivity: Verify that the printer is connected to your computer via USB or on the same WiFi network.
- Update Drivers: Run Windows Update and install the latest HP printer drivers.
