Hi, 

 

Ive just upgraded from an HP Envy 120 to a Smart Tank Plus 570. On the old machine I was able to send a scanned document directly to my mac from the front panel of the printer/scanner but when i go to do the same on the new machine it "To scan to a computer use the Hp software on your computer to set up this feature first"

 

I have turned everything that I can 'on' within the HP Smart App and also tried going direct via the printers URL in my browser. In both instances wi-fi direct is turned on.

 

In addition we need to have at least 2 computers (one iMac and one MacBook) connected and be able to choose between machines when scanning as we used to with the older Envy 120.

 

Can you help as this is a big issue due to the printer being some way from the computer therefore loading the machine, going to the Mac, scanning and walking back is not practical for multiple scans.

Hi Simon,

Scanning from the front panel is supported on Windows only on any current HP printers, a such it is not supported on Mac computers with the HP Smart app,

 

I would also suggest a workaround of using your mobile device with HP Smart shortcuts, to scan using your mobile device and email the scan to your Mac in a single task as an example:

I am really disappointed, it is completely unsatisfactory to say in the specifications that it is compatible with apple products when elements of the specification are not. I will be returning the machine and buying a brand that does support apple products.

 

I request that you remove the misleading information on ALL HP printers which say they are compatible with apple products or clearly advise customers of the limitations of your inferior new products.
