This actually concerns MacOS14 (Sonoma), which isn't on the drop-down list.
I have an OfficeJet 7740 Pro printer/scanner.
The scanner offers the possibility to scan to computer, initiated at the scanner and this was working on a previous computer until recently.
I now want to set the printer/scanner up on a new Mac computer.
The only software available from HP support is HP Smart which I have installed. This manages printing quite well and also scanning initiated from the computer, but there is nothing about setting up scan from the scanner.
There used to be an App called HP Utility, but this has disappeared from the HP site. In HP Utility there was a function to enable Scan to Computer.
Can anyone advise how to set up this function?

I have a similar problem. Since installing Sonoma, my 7740 will not scan to my Mac. It times out when it is trying to make a connection. Tried downloading the new drivers but the HP site said I already had the newest software. When I try entering the printer website (192.168.1.154), I get the message that it is not a secure site. I am running Norton's. Is this a security issue? Or software incompatibility?

Hi - it's good to know it's not just me.
I talked to a **bleep** about the problem - after going through a few possibilities he understood that the Scan-to-computer function was disabled and couldn't be enabled. He then said it was the fault of the Apple update and that I should contact Apple support for a solution. After a frustrating time with an Apple support agent I was informed that it wasn't Apple's fault that Apple's update had broken a printer/scanner function and that HP had to mend their software ...
