I have never used the fax on my HP OfficeJet 3830 but I am now having to work from home and I have no clue how to set it up.  I tried using a phone cord from the wall to the back of the computer (left side) and the phone line to the other connection on the right side on the back of the computer.  Obviously, I have no clue what I'm doing.  I have Spectrum Cable with a modem that is in another room.  Do I need filters or anything else to make it work?  I have no clue what I'm doing and I'm probably making this harder than it has to be!
