How do i get my OfficeJet Pro 8139e printer to scan on both side of paper

Welcome to the HP English Community --

Unlike its big brother, the OfficeJet Pro 9130e series, this printer model does not include automatic 2-sided Scan.

Like other printers lacking the auto-2-sided scan feature, you must scan the first side(s) of the document, flip / reload, and scan the second side(s).

HP Scan (part of the full driver printer software) and HP Universal Scan Software (similar to HP Scan but with a new format) include the tools to help make the extra steps tolerable when scanning a 2-sided document.

Select Page Sides "2-sided (manual)"

Scan the first side(s) and follow the instructions to reload the paper and scan the second side(s).

The software will re-order the pages.
