Deskjet 2510
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi everyone, i can't scan on my printer connected to the Router's USB but I can print without a problem. Whenever I open the printer' sotware(HP Deskjet 2510 series), I will be redirected to install the printer's driver and software(which is already installed). I've tried to use the HP Print and Scan Doctor but it didn't help. It just says that I need to install the drivers and softwares for this which again is already installed.

Here is a map on how I am printing to my printer:

Laptop ->(WiFi)-> Router ->(USB)->Printer

Hi,

Your printer is not a Network printer, it is a USB only printer.

By connecting the printer to a Print Server (a USB port of a router), a such only offer printing sharing through the network, a scan connection is way more complex and requires a direct connection of the PC, only network enabled devices (A wireless enabled printer or a printer with an ethernet port) allow scanning from multiple computers.

Well, that's sad. Are there no other way on how to do this? Its not just too efficient to plug in the Printer's USB everytime I scan. But anyways, thanks for that information!
