Hi @Susy50,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are trying to enable the scanning feature on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e All-In-One Printer, follow these steps:

Check Connection:

  • Ensure the printer is properly connected to your computer. If using a wireless connection, make sure both the printer and computer are on the same Wi-Fi network.
  • If using a USB cable, ensure it is securely connected.

Restart Devices:

  • Restart both the printer and your computer to refresh the connection.

HP Smart App:

  • Download and install the HP Smart app on your computer if you haven't already.
  • Open the HP Smart app and sign in with your HP account.
  • Add your printer by following the on-screen instructions.

Enable Scan to Computer:

  • Open the HP Smart app.
  • Click on your printer icon on the home screen.
  • Go to the “Printer Settings” or “Advanced Settings” (you might need to look for this under “Tools” or “Web Services”).
  • Look for the option to enable “Scan to Computer” and make sure it is turned on.

HP Scan and Capture:

  • If the HP Smart app does not resolve the issue, download and install the HP Scan and Capture app from the Microsoft Store.
  • Open the app and follow the on-screen instructions to scan.

Check HP Printer Assistant:

  • Open HP Printer Assistant on your computer (search for it in the Windows search bar if you can’t find it).
  • Click on “Scan” and then “Manage Scan to Computer”.
  • Ensure that “Enable Scan to Computer” is checked.

Update Printer Firmware: Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Make sure your printer's firmware is up-to-date. You can check for updates through the HP Smart app or the printer's control panel.

Reinstall Printer Drivers:

  • Uninstall the existing printer drivers and software from your computer.
  • Go to the HP Support page and download the latest drivers and software for your printer model.
  • Install the downloaded drivers and software.

Check Firewall and Antivirus Settings:

  • Sometimes, firewall or antivirus software can block the scanning feature. Ensure that your firewall or antivirus software is not blocking the HP printer software.

Webscan (If Enabled):

  • Open a web browser and type the printer's IP address in the address bar (you can find the IP address on the printer's control panel under network settings).
  • Press Enter to access the printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS).
  • Navigate to the “Settings” or “Security” tab and ensure Webscan is enabled.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
