I want to place a short cut to scan on the desktop.

HP Scan should be on desktop now if you installed software and drivers for printer properly. If it did not appear on desktop, please try

 

(a) Hit Win key,

(b) Locate HP Scan from HP folder,

(c) Right click HP Scan > Click More and then Pin to Taskbar.

 For shortcuts within HP Scan, you can't.

Before I had to swap the previous HP Office Jet Pro 6968 for the current HP Office Jet Pro 6968 I did have a short cut on the Desk Top! Not sure how I did it, hence my question. However, I did have one!!

 

I was able to place it on the Task Bar.
