HP OfficeJet Pro 8022 All-in-One Printer

I bought my printer a couple of years ago.  I chose this one specifically as it has the duplex scanning function which was great however I have now upgraded my laptop and now have windows 11 which insists I use the HP Smart app to scan but this then doesn't give me the option to scan in duplex.  How do I get duplex back as it has basically made my printer into one that I could have bought for half the price which is ridiculous!

Thanks

Hi @RMME2015,

Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I see that you wanted to know how to scan two sided document on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8022 All-In-One Printer.

Use the automatic document feeder (ADF) and settings in HP Smart for Windows and macOS to scan documents with two sides and save them in a single PDF file.

  1. Load the two-sided document in the ADF.
  2. Click the Scan tile on the HP Smart app home screen.
  3. Select Document Feeder in the Source menu.
  4. Click Scan.
  5. After the first sides are scanned, remove the pages from the output tray.
  6. Without turning the pages over or changing the page order, load them back into the document feeder with the same leading edge. You might need to rotate the pages first.
  7. Click +Add to scan the other sides of the pages.
  8. In the preview window, drag and drop the pages in the order you want.
  9. Click Save, and then select Basic PDF as the file type to save the document as a single PDF file.

You may also refer to this Web link.

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hi, I can do this way fine but its a very long winded. There used to be an option for 2 sided scanning without all the hassle of re-arranging as do lots of pages and not all are double sided which is advertised on the printwr when sold and did have before upgrading my computer which is what im looking for.  You used to click the "double sided printing" option on the feeder but that has disappeared
