Proceed with caution, there is a mylar cover over the glass and if you damage the mylar you will have to come up with a creative way to replace it as HP does not offer it as a replaceable part. On the left edge of the slit glass there is a thin retainer, use a small screwdriver to GENTLY pry out that plastic strip. You can then lift that side of the mylar strip slightly to insert a damp Q-tip or other cleaning device. Try to get as little fluid under the mylar as possible and try to avoid damaging it.
