When trying to scan from the printer to the PC it starts windows scan app which uses only printer scan glass instead of ADF(and can't scan into PDF but into jpeg or tiff). Is there any chance to make HP app a default one when trying to scan from the printer?

Hi,
That was my exact intention
Generally scanning from the printer to a computer is not supported by the HP Software, a such became available due the Windows 10 WSD discovery and provide limited scan capabilities through the OS.
Scanning via Windows do not provide PDF scanning, do not allow multiple pages scanning, to gain full scan capabiltieis as a such either use HP Scan from your PC or setup scanning to a network folder as suggested..

Scanning issues…
Please try this scan solution:
HP Scan Extended
For Windows: ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi
Once downloaded and installed, go to Start > All Programs > HP > HP Scan Extended > Run "HP Scan Extended"
Check all your settings and expand all tabs and all + signs to see all options that available.
Make searchable PDFs scans with this free scanning software - https://www.naps2.com/
NAPS2 also allows you to:
- Maximize and resize the scanning screen on your computer.
- Scan over 300 ppi from the Glass or ADF.
- Save multiple pages (over 300 ppi) to one PDF file.
Let us know.

Hi,
Generally scanning from the printer to a computer is not supported by the HP Software, a such became available due the Windows 10 WSD discovery and provide limited scan capabilities through the OS.
To get more control and capabilities scan using HP Scan from your computer or set up scanning to a networ folder by following the HP Scan to Network Folder Wizard within the printer software.
You may change a such to the ADF by going to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
Right click your printer and select Scan Profile.
Edt any of the profiles Source to Feeder / ADF and press OK, repeat the same for any of the shown profiles for your printer and then it will use the ADF instead when selecting Scan > Computer...
