How doI I scan old photos with my HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M281cdw printer? I have tried "scan to USB" and the photo scans as a document, not a photo. (I have set to JPEG). Also, is there a way to scan a few photos at a time as separate photos?

@JackieBeNice, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

 

To scan from your mac, you may use the HP Smart app or the HP Easy Scan app.

These apps can be downloaded from the App Store.

Yes, you can scan photos and save them individually.

 

For more info, refer to - How to scan with an HP printer

 

If you are using the scan to USB option on the printer screen,

Update the printer firmware

Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your Mac.

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

 

Make sure the scan settings are as per your requirements. Refer to page 63 of the User guide
