I have an hp MFP28-31 printer.
When I scan a document in and save it as a PDF file, it looks but it saves it with portrait size of 32.47 in x 23.61 in.
How do I change it to 8x11

Hi @sarah123123,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you want to adjust the default PDF size when scanning documents with your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M28-M31 Printer series, you typically need to access the printer's settings through the HP Smart app or the printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS). Here's how you can do it:
HP Smart App Method:
a. Open the HP Smart app on your computer.
b. Click on your printer from the list of available devices.
c. Look for an option related to scanning or settings. This might be under a gear or settings icon.
d. Find the default scan settings or PDF settings. Look for options related to page size or paper size.
e. Adjust the settings to your desired size, such as 8x11 or Letter size.
f. Save the changes.
Embedded Web Server (EWS) Method:
a. Open a web browser on your computer.
b. Enter the IP address of your printer in the address bar and press Enter. You can usually find the printer's IP address by printing a network configuration page from the printer.
c. In the EWS, navigate to the scan settings or scan preferences section.
d. Look for options related to PDF settings or default scan settings.
e. Adjust the settings to your desired size, such as 8x11 or Letter size.
f. Save the changes.

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
