How to setup receive fax to email for officejet 8020

I believe my printer can do this but I cannot find the place to setup receive fax to email instead of printing. Help please and thank you

Hi,

Your printer model does not offer any fax receive to mail capabilities.

You may use HP Digital Fax to save faxes to a local folder with the HP Software, not via Email:

Ok thanks. My problem is when I first set up to receive fax to the computer it was working and now it isn't. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the printer and have completed the digital fax setup. How can I fix this as most of my faxes can be sent out through email and I would not have to print them.

Hi @celeste235,

Restoring the printer configuration should likely help to resolve such a problem.

1. From the printer control panel, touch or swipe down the tab at the top of the screen to open the Dashboard, and then touch the gear icon (Setup).

2. Touch Printer Maintenance.

3. Touch Restore.

4. Touch Restore Factory Defaults.

A message appears stating that the factory defaults will be restored.

5. Touch Continue.

Now reconfigure the wireless connection of the printer if required by clicking the Wireless icon, Settings (gear icon), and following the Wireless Setup Wizard from within the Dashboard.

From the HP Printer Assistant software, follow the HP Digital Fax Setup Wizard and press Save and Test when completing the configuration to ensure it passes the test, then check for any difference.

I set the send fax to email. It does not seem to work. The fax history says the fax was received but it does not show up in the folder. I can print the fax from the history log but this defeats the purpose of saving to the computer.
