Hp officejet pro 8720

We are all of a sudden not able to recieve faxes on this machine. It has worked fine for years but all of a sudden we lost the ability to send or recieve faxes. Through countless visits from our phone provider and digging through manuals and internet posts, i was able to get the send function fixed. Not sure what did it, but i can send faxes. The problem now is i cant recieve anything back. Ive tried using the manual answer function (we have always used the auto-answer) but no luck. No cpu hooked up to this thing but there is a "fax modem" in our pbx room. Not sure how this thing affects things. Any help would be great!

@Cjcox, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Are you using a dedicated line or a shared line?

Make sure you are using a 2 wire phone cable.

Also, check the connections. The Phone cable should be connected to the Line-1 port at the back of the printer.

Print a fax test report

On the printer screen, go to Setup > Fax setup > Tools > Run fax test.

Share the results in your next post.

Under fax setup, go to Error correction mode and turn it OFF

Look for fax speed, set it to Medium.

Refer to the troubleshooting steps mentioned in this document.

Try receiving a fax and check.

Let me know how this goes.
