Hi there,

 

the settings for "scan to computer" are disabled on my new printer. How do I unlock/activate this function?

Hi @FeliceMass,

Scanning to a computer is supported on Windows Computers only, not on Mac computers.

 

You may scan using the HP Easy Scan or the HP Smart app from a Mac Computer.

 

You may enable Webscan on the printer EWS page as suggested, this will allow scanning from that page, not from the printer from panel

 

Another alternative to setup scanning from the printer screen would be HP Smart app Shortcuts, Scan to Email or Scan to Folder, these allow scanning to a mac computer from the printer through a network connection.

Settings, on the left side Security -> Administrator settings -> Enable Webscan from the list

Thank you for your help. I am quite surprised that scan to computer works only for windows pc. However I have found my way using scan to folder as per your hint.
