Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

My HP printer only makes copies when I activate it from the computer--there is a wired connection.
When I try to make a copy just using the copier itself, the machine starts working, but the paper doesn't feed, and a copy never comes out.
I appreciate your suggestions!

Hi @DJ77771,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP printer has a problem with the paper feed mechanism when attempting to make standalone copies. Since it works when initiated from the computer, the issue seems limited to copy mode. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue.

Check the Paper Tray and Feed:

  • Ensure that the paper is correctly loaded in the tray, with no jams or misalignments.
  • Check the paper size and type settings on the printer control panel and make sure they match the paper loaded.
  • Fan the paper stack before loading it into the tray to prevent multiple sheets from sticking together.

Clean the Paper Rollers:

  • Over time, dust and paper fibers can accumulate on the rollers, causing feed issues.
  • Turn off the printer and disconnect it from the power source.
  • Open the access panel, and gently clean the paper rollers with a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for about 60 seconds.
  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
  • Try to make a copy directly from the control panel.

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Go to HP’s support website and look for any firmware updates available for your printer model. Sometimes firmware bugs can cause issues with standalone functions like copying.

Run Printer Diagnostics:

  • From your printer’s control panel or through the HP software on your computer, try running any diagnostic tools to check for hardware problems.

Test Using a Different Power Source:

  • Plug the printer into a different outlet to ensure it's receiving sufficient power for the paper feed mechanism to work properly.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
