I had HP Scan & Capture on my now old Windows 10 computer - just replaced by a new Windows 11 computer.

I loved it.

Can anyone tell me how and where I might be able to obtain a copy for download ?

I understand that it likely would be compatible with Windows 11.

I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news --

After a decade of service, the beloved HP Scan and Capture app was retired in May 2024.

 

It was usable as installed as long as you still had the app on the computer.

 

It is not available for download.  Should you "find" the app somewhere, it is not from HP.

Note:

From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Alternatively, you can download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store. For more information on how to set up your printer using the HP Smart app, go to HP printer setup (HP Smart app).

Does anyone happen to have a copy of HP Scan & Capture (version = 40.0.245.0 ) that they could send me for installation on my new computer ? I really liked it on my old computer, but unfortunately do not have copy of it.

The answer is the same.

 

The HP Scan and Capture software is retired / discontinued as of May 2024.

 

There is no legitimate HP source to download the application.

 

Be careful -- should you find the app "out in the wild", it is not necessarily something you want to install on your computer.
