Hi, my printer scans with black vertical lines on it regardless of ADF or scanner glass, when you copy something the same - but not when printing. I have done all the obvious - turning off, cleaning etc per prior posts but nothing is working - please help!

Welcome to HP Support Community,

 

Does that Scanner bulb light up?

Does the scanner bar move when you open the lid & press the copy button?

What happens when you try to make a blank copy from the printer?

 

Let's perform a hard reset on the printer and make sure that the printer is connected directly to the wall outlet and not to the surge protector.

 

With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

Remove USB cable, if present.

Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.

Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord and then plug back the power cord to the printer.

Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.

I have done that and it still does not work, this si what I am getting when I scan or copy. But, when I print it's fine

@Michelleg189 Did you happen to go through the steps from the link I shared earlier, if not, please do and give me the result of the same,
