HP ENVY 4520

I deleted hp smart and all devices from my computer because my hp envy 4520 wasn't printing wireless. Now it will print wireless but when I click the little printer icon to look at the documents in the queue I get an error message that "Printer Scan Only -HPE0ED92 (HP ENVY 4520 Series)- DO NOT DELETE does not exist on the computer. Double check the printer name and make sure that the printer is connected to the network." I deleted it because I figured when I reinstalled hp smart and reconnected my printer it would add this as well, but it didn't. How do I get this back so the error message goes away and I can view documents in my queue from the little printer icon on my computer. I have a dell laptop that I believe runs windows 10.

Well, believe it or not, you are not the first person to remove or delete something that is labeled "do no touch".

 

We do what we must.

 

I believe the following Doctor might fix the problem without you having to actually uninstall the printer software.   Whether it works depends on how well the code can untangle what it finds on the system.

 

If it does not do so, go ahead and delete / remove / uninstall the printer software > Restart the computer and log in > then run the Doctor 5.0.6 again.

 

Try downloading and running the following version of the Doctor:

 

Offline Doctor V5.0.6

 

  HPPSdr_5.0.6.exe

 

  • Download and Save the doctor to your computer
  • Open File Explorer > Navigate to the folder in which you saved the file (likely Downloads)
  • Execute the doctor – Answer any prompts /  let the process complete
  • Restart the computer, log in, and wait for the final steps in the Doctor to finish.
  • Check for any difference.

Check

If necessary, Adjust the “Default” printing device (Default Printer)

 

Open Control Panel > icon view > Devices and Printers

Right-Click on the printer NOT marked as “Scan Only / DO NOT DELETE”

Set printer as Default

 

Example – Printers listed in Devices and Printers

Set “Default” Printer = HP OfficeJet Pro 9020 series PCL-3

NOT Default = Scan Only -HP OfficeJet Pro 9020 series PCL-3 (Network)-DO NOT DELETE
