I am having trouble copying a document using the feeder. Two blank pages are created and then the copy but the copy only includes the middle of the document. Also a message appears that the printer does not support the paper size. I am using standard 8.5 by 11 paper

I'd like to help!

Try the below-suggested steps-

Reset the product

• With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
• Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
• Wait at least 60 seconds.
• Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
• Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
• Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

 Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware 

To load an original in the document feeder

1. Load your original print-side up into the document feeder.

• a. If you are loading an original printed in portrait orientation, place the pages so that the top edge of the document goes in first. If you are loading an original printed in landscape orientation, place the pages so that the left edge of the document goes in first.
• b. Slide the paper into the document feeder until you hear a tone or see a message on the printer control panel display indicating that the loaded pages were detected.

TIP: For more help on loading originals in the document feeder, refer to the diagram on the document feeder tray.

2. Slide the paper-width guides inward until they stop at the left and right edges of the paper.
