Hello-

I just set up my new printer and am unable to fax more than 3 pages at a time? When I try to fax 5 pages it stops half way thru the 4th page and then does nothing. When I hit cancel I get a blue screen on the printer that flashes with "B808DA6C" and the only way to get rid of this is to turn the printer off and then back on again. I keep getting a failure power message. Any ideas on why I cant fax more than 3 pages. I am not liking this printer at all. I previously had the Office Jet Pro 8610 and never had this issue.

Thanks!

Hi @_ThomasFam

Welcome to the HP Support Community. Apologies for the inconvenience. I'd be happy to assist you. Let us try these steps to resolve this issue:

Try making a copy of more than 3 pages from the feeder and check if that works.

Have you tried sending multi-page fax to a different number and check if the issue persists?

Reset the printer

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  2. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  4. Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  5. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.

Update the printer firmware

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

Run a fax test on the printer.

On the printer, go to Setup > fax setup > Tools > Run fax test. Check for any errors.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I am responding with the same concern.

I cannot reliably fax a multi-page document.

I have tried all of the troubleshooting suggestions (done before this letter was sent) I can think of.

Is this just the life of a 9018 owner?  I am presuming that is due to congestion on either end of the communication line.  BUT, my previous all-in-one had no such problem, so I am leaning more toward a problem with this particular machine or this line of all-in-ones.

Can you tell me if the 9018's are prone to this problem?

I have an HP 9025 purchased a couple of months ago and just now have the need send a multiple page fax.  I tried to send an 11 page fax but only feeds four pages through before it stops.  It will run one more page through about 10 minutes later and then does nothing for up to 30 minutes.  At that point, I pulled page 5 the last couple of inches out into the tray for the "done" pages and pulled out page 5 a couple of inches back out into the automatic feeder tray.  Then about 4 minutes later, I got a transmission page saying "5 pages successfully sent."  In order to get my 11 page fax sent, I sent a fax of 5 pages, then 5 more pages, and finally one page by itself.  These three faxes all gave me a successful transmission page in about 2-3 minutes each...a totally acceptable time.  To date, even though I'm using the fax phone cable from the last printer, I've been instructed to go fine a two wire phone cable which your rep said is readily available at any electronics store.....only in Raleigh, NC a metro population of about a million people...no one has one and most knew nothing about a 2 wire phone cable.  Highly suggest that you include one in the box since the 9025 is not a $50 printer.  So I finally found one by accident...one of my old phone cords from 20 years ago had two wires!!!  I now have a two wire phone cable, have unplugged my printer for 60 seconds, and done the updates as you suggest.  Result:  Still won't fax 11 pages.  Case:  5045567998  Best printer I've ever had with a mickey mouse phone cable and won't print multi page faxes.
