Purchased a new HP 7100 series printer... it works fine, but I can not get my PDF Converter to scan. When I tell it to scan, i get the Envy screen telling me to select which picture do I want to copy? But there is no list. I'm not trying to copy a picture, I want to scan. Followed all the program set up suggestions... still can not do. Word Perfect will scan with no problem.

If you can scan from the word application, I think the scanning mechanism of the printer is working fine.
And you are right, there could be some settings/configurations that need to be changed on the PDF Converter Professional program.
You may check with the program vendor support team for the correct configurations/settings.

Thanks for reaching out to the HP Support community!
- What is the name of the application that you are using to scan?
You can scan using the full feature software or the HP Scan and Capture App and save documents in the PDF format.
Scan using the HP Full feature software.
- Download the full feature software from this link or manually search for drivers from here https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/printers.
- From the windows start menu search for the 'HP' Printer application (there might also be a shortcut created on the Windows desktop)
- Launch the app.
- Select the Scan menu.
- Select 'Scan a Document or Photo'
- Select 'Save as PDF'
- Click on 'Scan' and Save the scanned file.
Scan Using the HP Scan and Capture App
- Go to the Microsoft Store and download the 'HP Scan and Capture' app. It's a free app.
- Go to Settings and add a device by selecting ' Select Device' an then selecting the printer.
- By default, the app saves the scanned image as PDF, but if you want to save it in a different format, you can change that in the settings menu.
(Note: with the HP Scan and Capture app you will be able to scan from the PC and not from the printer control panel)
Let me know if this helps.

When I open PDF Converter Professional 7.2 and tell it to SCAN a new or to an existing document I get a screen which says " Which picture do you want to copy?" below that is Thumbnails or Details... but neither has a file to select. I'm not looking to scan or copy a picture, just want to scan new or to an existing document. I know it's "pilot error" and it looks like I'm going to crash if I don't get some help. the scanner alone works fine... and I can scan from word perfect with no problem... I'm thinking it has to be the PDF converter program but don't know what else to do. I can't find a link beyond "Which picture...."
