Alternatively, you can download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store. For more information on how to set up your printer using the HP Smart app, go to HP printer setup (HP Smart app).

We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

HP ENVY 7645 e-All-in-One Printer

I can print from my computer but suddenly cannot scan. i get a grayed out sign-in window that i cannot access.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

 

This issue usually occurs due to a problem with the HP software, driver authentication, or permission settings. Try the following solutions.

 

Restart Devices

  • Restart your computer and printer.
  • Check if the issue persists.

Check HP Scan Software

  • Open HP Smart or HP Scan and Capture on your computer.
  • Try scanning from there. If the issue continues, proceed to the next step.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor (Windows Only)

  • Download HP Print and Scan Doctor.
  • Open the tool and follow the on-screen instructions to troubleshoot scanning issues.

Reinstall the HP Printer Software

Uninstall HP Software

  • Go to Control Panel > Programs & Features.
  • Find HP ENVY 7645 software and uninstall it.
  • Restart your computer.

Reinstall the Latest Software

  • Download and install the latest full feature driver from HP’s website.

Check Windows Scanner Permissions

  1. Open Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera.
  2. Scroll down to Allow apps to access your scanner.
  3. Ensure this setting is enabled.

Scan Using Windows Fax and Scan

  1. Open Windows Fax and Scan (Windows Key + S, then search for it).
  2. Click New Scan and select your HP ENVY 7645.
  3. If this works, the HP software may be the issue.

Check HP Scan Login (If Required)

  • Some HP software versions require you to be logged into an HP account to scan.
  • If you see a sign-in prompt that’s grayed out, try the following:
    1. Open HP Smart and sign in to your HP account manually.
    2. Close and reopen HP Smart or the scanning tool.
