Hi @JoeBennett ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are having trouble printing from your computer to your HP ENVY Photo 7855 printer. Let's try to troubleshoot the issue together:

To assist you better:

  • How far is the printer located from the WiFi router?
  • Do you have a dual-band router?
  • If you have a dual-band router and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks share the same name/SSID, the printer will not be able to connect to the network. In this case, contact your Internet service provider to assign different names to both networks.

While you respond to that, Let's perform a power drain:

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Remove the USB cable, if present.
  • Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
  • Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn on the printer and wait till the warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle

  • Check Printer Connections: Ensure that your printer is properly connected to your computer. If it's a wired connection, make sure the USB cable is securely plugged into both the printer and your computer. If it's a wireless connection, ensure that both the printer and the computer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  • Printer Status: Check if there are any error messages or warning lights on the printer's control panel. This might give you a clue as to what the problem could be.
  • Printer Drivers: Make sure that the printer drivers are properly installed on your computer. You can download the latest drivers from the HP website specific to your printer model. Sometimes, outdated or corrupted drivers can prevent printing. Software and Drivers for HP ENVY Photo 7855 All-in-One Printer
  • Printer Queue: Check the printer queue on your computer to see if there are any pending print jobs. Sometimes, a stuck print job can prevent new print jobs from being processed. You can clear the print queue and try printing again.
  • Restart Devices: Sometimes, simply restarting both your computer and your printer can resolve connectivity issues.
  • Firewall/Antivirus Settings: Check your firewall or antivirus settings to ensure that they are not blocking communication between your computer and the printer.
  • Paper and Ink/Toner: Ensure that there is enough paper in the printer tray and that the ink or toner cartridges have sufficient ink/toner levels.
  • Test Print: Try printing a test page directly from the printer. This can help determine if the issue is with the printer itself or with the connection to your computer.
