Hi @marlenecasse

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

If your HP printer or scanner is not recognizing email addresses for scanning, it could be due to configuration issues.

Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the problem:

Verify Email Settings:

Check the email addresses you're using and ensure they are correctly entered.

If you're using a specific email server (e.g., Gmail, Yahoo), verify the SMTP server settings, port numbers, and authentication details.

Update Firmware and Software:

Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date. Visit the HP Support website to download the latest updates.

Update the HP Smart app or any other software you're using for scanning.

Reconfigure Scan-to-Email:

Access the printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS) by entering the printer's IP address in a web browser.

Navigate to the "Scan to Email" setup and reconfigure the email profiles.

Check Network Connection:

Ensure your printer is connected to the internet and the network is stable.

Restart your router and printer to refresh the connection.

Test with a Different Email Address:

Try using a different email address to see if the issue is specific to one account.

If this solution hits the spot, please come back and click "Accepted Solution" to help others find the answer. And if you'd like to say thanks, select "Yes" on the bottom left of the public post, as that would make our day!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
