If you're experiencing issues scanning to email from your HP OfficeJet Pro 8715 to your HP Chromebase 22, and you're getting a "Cannot Connect to Server" error message, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

1. Check Network Connection

  • Ensure that both your HP OfficeJet Pro 8715 printer and your HP Chromebase 22 are connected to the same network.
  • Verify that the Ethernet cables are securely plugged into both devices and your modem/router.

2. Verify Email Settings

  • Make sure that the email settings on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8715 are configured correctly.
  • Check that the email server settings, including the SMTP server address, port number, and authentication credentials (username and password), are accurate.

3. Restart Devices:

  1. Turn off your printer and Chromebase.Unplug the power cables from both devices and wait for a few minutes.Plug in the power cables and turn on both devices.Try scanning to email again to see if the issue persists.

4. Update Firmware and Software

  • Ensure that your HP OfficeJet Pro 8715 has the latest firmware installed. You can check for firmware updates through the printer's control panel or the HP website.Check for any available updates for your HP Chromebase 22 as well.

5. Troubleshoot Wireless Connection (if applicable)

  • If you're using a wireless connection, try temporarily connecting your printer and Chromebase 22 via Wi-Fi instead of Ethernet cables to see if the issue persists.Verify that your wireless network settings, including SSID and password, are correctly entered on both devices.

6. Check Firewall and Security Settings

  • Confirm that your firewall or security software isn't blocking the communication between your printer and email server. Temporarily disable any firewall or security software and try scanning to email again.

7. Test Scanning from a Different Device

  • Try scanning to email from a different device (e.g., a computer or smartphone) to see if the issue is specific to the HP Chromebase 22.This can help determine whether the problem lies with the printer or the Chromebase.
