I have an HP Envy 7855. Can I use the top loader to scan multiple pages to my computer?

When I load multiple pages in the top scanning port, it recognizes the documents have been loaded. I then tap on scan to computer. But it scan the flat glass instead of pulling the pages through the top loader. What am I doing wrong?

If you are willing to do so, there are other options that will get you want you want.

Embedded Web Server > Webscan (on the computer using your web browser)

 Using the Printer Embedded Web Server (EWS)

Webscan – located in the Embedded Web Server (EWS) – No additional software

If the printer is on the network,

• Open your favorite browser > type / enter Printer IP address into URL / Address bar
• Tab Settings > Security > Administrator Settings > make sure Webscan is checked / enabled
• Click Apply to save any changes

Next

• Tab Scan > Webscan 
• Set up Webscan the way you want it - for example, set the Source to ADF - Scan a test document using Webscan

Install the Full driver printer software on your computer.

Wrapper program:

HP Easy Start Printer Setup Software

When asked (or you are offered a choice), opt for the Full Driver software.

After the software is installed, Restart the computer and log in.

The software add a shortcut icon to the Desktop named for your printer.

Open this "Printer Assistant" and select Scan > HP Scan

The setup is fairly straight forward - be sure you check / adjust the Destination in More >

If you like, you can add the HP Smart for Windows application (also goes on the computer).

The application is from the Windows Store.

Some people like the HP Smart application because it is a bit more "compact", the app is generally easy to use, and the format (presentation) is similar to other mobile applications you might find on your phone or tablet (iPad).

Where available, Smart Tasks can be configured for several print tasks.

• Print: Send a print job to your printer.
• Email: Send an email message or attachments.
• Save to: Save a file to a cloud storage account, such as Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive.
