Hi @AnthonyDela,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

If you're experiencing difficulties with scanning on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8034e, here are several steps you can follow to identify and resolve the issue:

Basic Checks and Setup

  1. Verify Connections:
    • Ensure that your printer is properly connected to your computer via USB or network (Wi-Fi/Ethernet). Check all cables if using a wired connection.

  2. Driver and Software Setup:
  3. Printer Status Verification:
    • Make sure there are no error messages displayed on the printer's control panel itself.

Scanning Configuration

  1. HP Smart App:
    • Use the HP Smart app for scanning, which provides a user-friendly interface. Open the app, click on your printer, and select the "Scan" option.

  2. Windows Scan Tool:
    • For Windows users, try using Windows Fax and Scan. Search for it in the Start menu and test scanning using this tool.

  3. Mac Users:
    • Open Preview, then select "Import from Scanner" from the "File" menu. Choose your HP printer and attempt to scan.

Network and Connection Troubleshooting

  1. Network Connectivity:
    • Check if the printer is connected to the same network as your computer. Access the printer’s control panel, check network settings, or print a network configuration page.

  2. Firewall and Security Software:
    • Temporarily disable firewall software to ensure it isn’t blocking scanning capabilities on the network.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
