Hi there,  I tried to photocopy something on my  HP Envy Photo 6255 printer . It sent me this error code : Error code: 0X00829C98 HW_WATCHDOG C .  I tried to turn the printer off and I could not. It is basically stuck with this message on the screen.  Any suggestions on what I can do ?

The "HW_WATCHDOG C" error code on your HP Envy Photo 6255 printer indicates a hardware issue related to the printer's watchdog timer. The watchdog timer is a mechanism that monitors the printer's activity and ensures that it functions properly. If the timer detects an issue, it can generate this error code.

 

Here are some steps that you can try to resolve this issue.

 

  • Reset the printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for 60 seconds. Then, plug the printer back in and turn it on. Check if the error message has been resolved.
  • Update firmware: Check if there is any firmware update available for your printer model. If yes, download and install it from the HP website.
  • Check for paper jams: Check if there are any paper jams or obstructions inside the printer. If yes, remove them carefully.
