HP ENVY Photo 7155 All-in-One Printer

I have used my HP Envy Photo 7155 to scan a number of pages and then suddenly, it would not scan more.  What can I do to finish this file and then store it on my computer?

Hi @Goshen2,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I can understand how frustrating it must be to have your scanning suddenly stop, especially when you're in the middle of an important task. Let's work together to get your HP Envy Photo 7155 scanning again!

A Few Quick Questions to Diagnose the Issue:

  1. Did you receive an error message? If so, what does it say?
  2. Are you scanning via USB or Wi-Fi? Connection issues can sometimes interfere with scanning.
  3. Is the scanner responding at all, or does nothing happen when you try to scan?
  4. Have you tried restarting both the printer and your computer?

1. Restart the Printer and Computer

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it for 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Restart your computer and try scanning again.

2. Check HP Smart or HP Scan App

  • If you're using HP Smart, close and reopen the app.
  • If you’re using HP Scan, try scanning from Windows Fax and Scan (Windows) or Image Capture (Mac).

3. Clear Any Stuck Print or Scan Jobs

  • Open Devices and Printers (Windows) or System Preferences > Printers & Scanners (Mac).
  • If there are any pending jobs, cancel them.

4. Check Scanner Driver & Software

  • Open HP Smart or HP Print and Scan Doctor (Windows) to check for issues.
  • If necessary, uninstall and reinstall the HP Full Feature Software from HP’s website.

5. Try Scanning from a Different Application

  • If scanning from HP Smart doesn’t work, try Windows Fax and Scan (Windows) or Preview/Image Capture (Mac).

6. Check Scanner Settings in Control Panel

  • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers
  • Right-click your printer, select Scan Properties, and ensure the scanner is enabled.

7. Test a Single-Page Scan

  • If a large scan job caused the issue, try scanning a single page.
  • Large scan jobs can overload memory—scanning in smaller batches might help.

If these steps don’t solve the issue, let me know what happens at each step, and we’ll figure out the next move together!

Take care and have a good day.
